Choices

We all have to make our own choices, but those choices are inevitably affected by those we surround ourselves with. Why can't we just let our concern for the happiness of other people fade into the background for once? Mais non. Instead we are concerned, thoughtful people who would even give up our own happiness to satisfy those we love, even if it means we're miserable. I really hate this part of friendship. So much give and never any take. One person is always bending into awkward positions to make the other happy. One person with all the power, even if they don't know it. The power to take away someone's happiness. The power to make people cry. The power to do whatever they damn well please. I'm so pissed off right now.

Okay hun. Friendship is a give and take, but you need to figure out if you're the only one doing all the giving. If the other person is simply taking and taking and taking and making you unhappy, then it's not a friendship at all. It's onesided and they are using you for something. And are selfish. And even if this post were about me, and I was the one taking, I would still say the same thing. You need to decide if the friendship is really worth your unhappiness, when the other person is never unhappy for you. Although if it were about me, you should tell me, and I'd work at being a better friend :D
