Grace

I experienced one of the most amazing feelings today and I really wish I could describe it, but I don't even know where to start. There's just something about seeing someone happy that makes me realize that there's more to life than being upset or just passing through.

There's a light somewhere that glows
right through this cold winter in my head,
where nothing dares to move
for fear of being eaten

I stand framed in my window
waiting for the rain to fall
surrounded by cases full of unread books
bound and printed with truth

And we'll stand there together
framed in sheets of glass that laugh
as we listen for the poem of rain
lisping its words on a concrete audience
