Stardust, it's a funny thing you know...

The airport is an interesting place...

There's no other place in the world where you will see so many different people. You'll meet people who want a beer at 5:00 in the morning. You'll meet the family that makes your's seem tolerable. You'll encounter a pilot who refers to a storm on the weather map as "the yellow stuff." You'll watch exchange students fighting back tears leaving their host families, all the while waiting impatiently to start their journey home. Only in a plane will you have a conversation with a young baseball player from Vancouver about how he loves bubble gum then not talk at all for the next hour and a half because you're both exhausted. There's always that one guy who thinks it's hilarious that we're all up at such an ungodly hour and will not stop laughing about how he has a 4 hour layover in Chicago. Please shut up sir. You'll commiserate with the little boy with the scared look on his face who's flying by himself for the first time. And that family of 7 will break your heart as they say goodbye to their uniformed son and brother.

And only in a plane will you get to watch the sunrise above the storm going on below the clouds. Have I mentioned yet that I love flying?

Me too. And besides, when you're flying, it is usually because you are headed somewhere you can't wait to be. :)
